25 April 2022 15:30 GMT, 09:30 EST Present: Angeline, Alexa, Kate, Mack, and John
- No one had worked on outstanding issues, all need to pitch in a bit.
- Kate has an outstanding review request here: https://github.com/EquitableLettersSP/DirectorResources/pull/11
- Alexa had shared ELSP at NASA and encountered some interest, hopefully this can lead to more opportunities
- Alexa has the ELSP cards ready, and just needs to print them. We discussed delivery options.
- All had poked a little at the Letter article. Mack had iterated with Astrid about publication, and the only options left to us seem to be the DEI special issue from Frontiers (abstracts due June 30) and Nature opinions. Angeline suggested that it may be better to just put up the guide on the webpage. Mack reminded us of the importance of publications. All decided to go for the Frontiers special issue, with either a 2000 word limit (opinions) or 3000 word limit (perspectives).
- Angeline was invited to talk about ELSP at TESS, in August, and will start preparing slides soon.
- Mack suggested putting together a slide for the CEDAR plenary, that will remind people ELSP is available and an option.
- Alexa and Mack discussed implementing SOARS (or similar) at NASA. Angeline asked if ELSP could be shared more broadly with SOARS. All discussed how this could be a useful tool for students, especially for their personal statements.
- Angeline and John discussed contacting the Athena Swann people at his new institution and sharing ELSP with them, potentially getting it to be standard practice for the department.
- Angeline - Write up minutes, provide GitHub support, add to Letter article, put together slides (CEDAR and TESS), and tackle outstanding issues.
- Alexa - Print and deliver business cards, add to Letter article, and tackle outstanding issues.
- Kate - Add to Letter article and tackle outstanding issues.
- Mack - Add to Letter article, start a feedback from from submitters, and tackle outstanding issues.
- John - Add to Letter article, provide meeting links, and tackle outstanding issues.
