Iteration 2
WHAT
We want to develop an app for english speaking tourists that can review restaurants. This app will include features such as menu translations, a forum for food-related discussion and the ability to earn points (pie points) by giving valid reviews and menu translations.
WHO
The application will focus on English speaking tourists coming to China. These tourists are unable to speak Chinese and require the application to help them find nearby restaurants will simple Chinese to English translations and comprehensive reviews.
WHY
Better food experience for tourists in China. We want to help the user choose food that suits their taste. Our app allows the user to chose a restaurant based on reviews to ensure the quality of a product. The app will provide a forum section for the user to discover new food and resturants.
WHERE
Our main focus will be in Australia and China with menu translations in English.
WHEN
The apps main purpose is to be used when the user is in search of high-quality food near their current location. The app will be most popular during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
HOW
By having a database of restaurants and their locations and details. These locations will need reviews and translations. We will need to research the local food industries and applications that offer similar features.
- Gabe: Team Manager

- Ahmed: Marketing Manager
- Have app structure completed
- Finish logo design and slogan

- Fix issues with downloading android studio
- Fix issues with downloading XD
- Fix issue with figuring out the best way to do menu translations. Thinking of taking high-quality photos of menus from known restaurants and using google translate and cross-referencing that with a Chinese student to decrease the possibility of mistranslation
- Fix getting everyone on the same page and making sure everyone has a unified understanding of the application and its intent to avoid confusion amongst our group.

| Date | Discussion |
|---|---|
| 01/07/19 | During our first meeting of week 2 we established what main pages our app needs. Fundamental pages will be the login/signup page, home page, and restaurant page. We also established team roles. |
| 03/07/19 | Aaron will look into the GPS. Gabe and Hannah are designing and populating the database on MySQL. Ahmed will design the logo and page layouts. Belinda is doing the business plan. Frank is looking into the system architecture. |
| 04/07/19 | We have begun working on the documentation. Ahmed has designed various logos and color schemes, which we will eventually decide with a vote which one we will use. Aaron has started the app design in android studio. |
| 05/07/19 | Voted and finalized a logo design. We have finished the mySQL and need to start looking at getting the database and the app to work together. Aaron has got the GPS set up and display the phone’s location on the map. Have got the welcome page working and the initial version of the app works on Aaron’s phone. Gabe and Hannah to begin putting stuff into the wiki that team members have been writing. Still, need to finalize a slogan. Goals for early next week: gather menus for translation, write mock reviews for 10 restaurants which will appear as the top 10 restaurants in our area. |
