Weird blurring on canvas when selecting groups of nodes

using cytoscape.js v3.31.4 as per #362 - not sure if this was also present in the earlier version bundled with Dash Cytoscape.

See the big orange/brown nodes on the right side in the screen capture below: (drawing around d = 4 of k99_38 in aug1 with default layout params)

not a BIG deal but maybe worth downgrading the cy version a bit if needed to fix

Strangely, I can't reproduce this issue today. Maybe my laptop was just acting up yesterday?

Anyway, I guess we can leave this up - just in case it recurs for some reason. I was thinking that maybe the blurring could be caused by long-running operations in the callbacks on selection (which could block Cytoscape.js' canvas updates, causing temporary blurring)...?

But even when I artificially add long-running operations to the callbacks (e.g. print out every number in the range 1-99999 or something) this still doesn't cause blurring. WEIRD

If this does end up being part of the problem, we can see about making the selection callback more efficient, or maybe increasing the debounce time (doing something to ensure that we wait to update our side of things until after Cytoscape.js has finished updating the styles).
