I am a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Morogoro, Tanzania. My work sits at the intersection of agriculture, technology, and innovation, with a focus on solving societal problems through AgRobotics, Precision Agriculture, and Software Systems.
I am a well-rounded software developer and engineer with expertise in Cybernetics—the study of control and communication in machines and living things. My passion lies in leveraging technology for sustainable farming practices, minimizing environmental impact, and empowering the next generation of innovators.

My research focuses on the optimized use of inputs (water, fertilizers) using sensor networks and intelligent systems to enhance crop yields while mitigating environmental degradation. I am the driving force behind two key laboratories at SUA:
A hub for cutting-edge research and development centered on practical solutions for farmers.
- Focus: Satellite & Drone Technology, IoT (Soil moisture sensors, weather stations).
- Goal: Large-scale farm monitoring, crop health assessment, and yield prediction.
An incubator for young talent providing mentorship and resources.
- Focus: Problem-centered training in Machine Vision and low-cost ag-tech solutions.
- Goal: Fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and addressing community challenges.
I specialize in integrating machine vision algorithms into resource-constrained embedded systems and developing sophisticated software for public and private sectors.

I provide consultancy in software systems development and electronic control systems. Below are select projects I have engineered:
- Web Service APIs (2016–2019): Developed APIs for the College of Business Education (CBE) to connect with the Government Central Payment System, TCU, NACTE, and banking systems (CRDB, NMB, NBC).
- Tomato Business Access Information System (2016): Integrated tomato value chain data with SMS response software for EPINAV.
- m-IMAS (Mobile Integrated Market Access System): Developed using KANNEL mobile SMS systems for Trans-Sec.
- SUASIS Mobile Payment Integration: Connected the SUA Student Information System to mobile payment gateways.
- WebGIS Systems: Developed mapping systems for TRANS-SEC using MapServer and OpenLayers.
