Residential Energy Systems & Data-Driven Home Automation

I build, instrument, and analyze residential energy systems with engineering-grade rigor. My projects combine DIY hardware, statistical analysis, and open data.


Projects

500Ah DIY battery bank with 130+ days of continuous monitoring. Validates "architectural immunity" hypothesis for mixed-brand parallel cells. Includes 712k high-frequency samples, reproducible analysis scripts, and open datasets.

DOI

12V UPS for Home Assistant and network equipment. Sub-millisecond switchover via MOSFET ideal diode, 8+ hour runtime, Shelly Plus Uni monitoring.

Production Home Assistant configuration implementing statistical process control (±2σ bounds) for HVAC efficiency monitoring. CI/CD validated.

50-month energy study of a 2,440 ft² home in Connecticut. Establishes diagnostic baselines using verified utility data and runtime telemetry. 42.8 kBTU/ft²-yr (31% better than regional average).
