2024-2026 MIT License
Copyright (C) 1996-2024 by Ohno Tomoaki. Mr. Tomoaki put it under MIT license in 2024.

Changes:

  • Integration of CHM help and invocation of MS Help Viewer (Issue nakkag#26)
  • Integration of Ohno Tomoaki's Rich Text Format plugin
  • Replace with regular expressions (tool_clip plugin)
  • Macros, insert templates with expanded variables (tool_clip plugin)

The fork on https://github.com/wilfz/CLCL contains all features and fixes since 2024:

  • User interface in English, Japanese, German, Ukrainian, and Simplified Chinese
  • Switch user interface language in option's Viewer tab and save in CLCL.ini (works only if Windows version is Vista or newer)
  • Set font "MS Shell Dlg" for all dialogs (pull request #3 by alezhu)
  • Added clipboard access delay setting (merge from Koichi-Kobayashi)
  • OS version check with recommended method (merge from Koichi-Kobayashi)
  • Display item title of unprintable characters as abbreviation or ASCII-Code (Issue nakkag#23)
  • Added context menu: Show (only current item) as binary
  • English documentation as HTML Help in Viewer menu
  • Expand environment variables in tool paths (issue nakkag#22)
  • Installer optionally includes plugins
  • Search and replace with regular expressions (tool_clip plugin)
  • Merged Japanese and English Plugin Versions
  • Plugins updated to current OS (with plugins' ini files in %LOCALAPPDATA%\clcl, adjacent to clcl.ini)
  • The main program and the plugins are compiled with platform toolset v143.

setup_clcl_2_1_6.exe may issue a warning when started. This does not imply a threat, but is due to the fact that as a private developer I cannot afford to purchase a certificate to sign the binary for an open source project.

Alternatively you can download clcl_2_1_6.zip and unpack into a folder of your choice and start clcl.exe from there. The content of the zip is the same as the directory created by the installer, but the installer also creates Start Menu items and optionally a desktop item.

Both packages include binaries of some useful plugins.
The main program and the plugins are compiled with the latest platform toolset v143.

Changes:

  • Beta 2 features the first translation to Simplified Chinese. Probably there is still much to be done regarding dialogue layout, font, and font size.
  • All dialogue fonts have been switched to "MS Shell Dlg" (pull request #3 by alezhu), which normally translates to "Microsoft Sans Serif". While this seems to be an improvement for european character sets (latin and cyrillic), I cannot estimate whether this is also true for Japanese and Simplified Chinese.

The fork on https://github.com/wilfz/CLCL contains all features and fixes since 2024:

  • User interface in English, Japanese, German, Ukrainian, and Simplified Chinese (still experimental)
  • Switch user interface language in option's Viewer tab and save in CLCL.ini (works only if Windows version is Vista or newer)
  • Added clipboard access delay setting (merge from Koichi-Kobayashi)
  • OS version check with recommended method (merge from Koichi-Kobayashi)

All plugins have been reworked for current operating system.
