Project Abstract
LUXBIN is a Substrate-based blockchain that introduces temporal cryptography and material-inspired photonic encoding as an energy-efficient alternative to proof-of-work systems. Instead of mining, LUXBIN derives cryptographic keys and block validation from deterministic time-based functions, enabling fast finality, low energy consumption, and quantum-resilient design principles.
A core innovation of this project is the LDD (Layered Deterministic Dynamics) model, a fully virtual, equation-driven system inspired by the behavior of layered photonic and crystalline materials. The LDD is implemented as a deterministic entropy and translation function that transforms time into structured cryptographic material and human-readable photonic representations (e.g. color-based addresses). This approach preserves reproducibility and auditability while improving usability and reducing computational overhead. The grant will fund the implementation of a Rust-based Substrate pallet, a reference specification, and a local testnet demonstrating Proof-of-Time consensus and photonic transaction encoding within the Polkadot ecosystem.
Grant Level
Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)
(Level 1 is the correct choice for an initial pallet + testnet + spec. You can scale later.)
Application Checklist
The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (luxbin_temporal_blockchain.md).
I have read the application guidelines.
Payment details have been provided (Polkadot AssetHub (USDC & DOT) address in the application and bank details via email, if applicable).
I understand that an agreed upon percentage of each milestone will be paid in vested DOT, to the Polkadot address listed in the application.
I am aware that, in order to receive a grant, I (and the entity I represent) have to successfully complete a KYC/KYB check.
The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application (Apache 2.0).
The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted
