It makes sense, but why the Tasmota/ESPHome mention? As I read it, I understood that I can just add a webserver component and it will work. Also, BK7231 doesn't run Tasmota, so it should be moved along with RTL8710. As a side note, I am considering writing Lightleak properly - as a PC application, instead of using Android for that. It would probably be much more stable, and you wouldn't even need the CustomAP device. |
Rewording and fixing inaccuracies.
The main reason to mention those is because anyone flashing this is familiar with the OTA firmware upgrade process with those process - I had a test ESP32 laying around that was already setup with ESPHome so it was much easier to just OTA the firmware. I'll remove that though as any flashing process will work. Agree on the other inaccuracy and will fix that - feel free to also change/reword as you see fit. A PC based setup will make things easier ala hostapd will make things much easier but I understand that a cheap ESP device for a onetime dump also makes sense. Thank you for all the work you've done on this project - it's a far cry from the early days of things. |
This adds more information for users who may not be as familiar with bootstraping platformio or ESP devices.
Additionally, since the cloudcutter firmware does not have a webserver running currently, resetting the device back previous state may not as easy. Therefore it recommends getting a burner device that can be flashed via USB afterwards.
