afx-FindAndReplace for After Effects

Quickly find and replace text in layer and project item names.

Install

1. Place afx-FindAndReplace.jsx in:
   • Win: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects [version]\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels\
   • Mac: /Applications/Adobe After Effects [version]/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels/
2. Restart AE
3. Find in: Window > afx-FindAndReplace

Use

• Find: Text to search for
• Replace: Replacement text
• ⇅: Swap find/replace values
• Project: Replace in all project items
• Composition: Replace in active comp layers

Notes

• Only replaces names, not text layer content
• Case-sensitive
• Undo with Ctrl+Z/Cmd+Z
