OTA Update Notes

If updating from the OTA server listed in the plug does not work then manually download the file for your plug or bulb and upload it manually.

Power Calibration Info

Due to manufacturing variances the plug info may still be slightly off, this is normal.

If you want to get it exact for your power and particular setup you can always calibrate with the Tasmota Power Calibration guide.

Readme before upgrading

If on version V2.0 or higher, just install the firmware via the web GUI.

On a version older than V2.0? Upgrade to EZHome V1.0 before updating to this V3.0 release.

Then update to this release after you issue the Reset 4 option in the console as detailed below.

If coming from V2.0 you can upgrade in place. To get the new power calibration settings for the EZPlug plus use the Reset 4 option in the console as detailed in the V1.0 release notes.

Restore Firmware Defaults w/Keeping Wifi

We recommend resetting the firmware to defaults after installing this update. If you do not some backend settings and the OTA URL will not be correct when coming from our older firmware for the EZHome products.

To do this bring up the web interface for your device and then click the Console button.

In the console type Reset 4 and press enter. This will reset the device to defaults but still retain your wifi information.

Updating

These new builds are small enough to directly flash onto existing devices without using a "minimal" build as in the past. Once you are on this version you will be able to use the built-in OTA upgrade from the device web UI going forward. Make sure to reset the firmware to defaults using the details below.

OTA Update Notes

If updating from the OTA server listed in the plug does not work then manually download the file for your plug or bulb and upload it manually.

Don't have the "Upgrade by web server" option?

You can download the XXX.bin.gz file from the release page and upload it to your device. Make sure to get the correct file for your device (aka EZPlug vs EzPlugPlus). You can then upload the file to the device and then click start upgrade. It will upload and then restart.

Have the "Upgrade by web server" option?

Some older EZPlugs will have the "Upgrade by web server" option but it defaults to the Tasmota URL. Paste in the URL for your device below and then click Start Upgrade.

  • EZPlug: https://github.com/th3dstudio/EZHome/releases/latest/download/EZPlug.bin.gz
  • EZPlug+: https://github.com/th3dstudio/EZHome/releases/latest/download/EZPlugPlus.bin.gz
  • EZBulb: https://github.com/th3dstudio/EZHome/releases/latest/download/EZBulb.bin.gz
