Thank you for working on this.
It is non-obvious how CSpell associates a file extension with a dictionary and other rules.
The filetypes.ts file is just a list of file types. The spell checker uses it to try an figure the possible set of file types to associate with a file.
Sadly I followed VSCode's internal convention of using languageId instead of fileTypeId when designing the config file structure. I had done this to match their setting documentation. This leads to a confusion around Spoken Language vs Programming Language vs File Type.
Issue #8202 is asking for the mapping between an extension and its languageId.
I think it is a first step and a good reference.
Things become more interesting when showing the associated dictionaries. But, that could be a different page.

By the way, binary files will not be checked. It might be useful to make two tables to call out explicitly excluded file types. |

I think we might want to export a "clean" version of the definitions instead of the raw data. The raw table is designed to allow contributors to easily add new extensions.
