MidwayCert

Because your Tilt-A-Whirl needs paperwork too

MidwayCert is the only compliance platform built from the ground up for traveling carnival and amusement ride operators. It tracks inspection schedules, engineer certifications, insurance certificates, and permit renewals across all 50 state regulatory frameworks simultaneously. Excel was never built for this and it shows — MidwayCert was.

Features

  • State-by-state permit routing that auto-identifies the correct agency and submission format for each jurisdiction
  • Tracks over 340 distinct regulatory rule variants across US state and county amusement ride codes
  • Ride maintenance log engine cross-referenced against live manufacturer spec sheets via the RideSpec Pro API
  • Mechanic and engineer license expiration alerts with configurable lead times. Never miss a renewal window again.
  • Insurance certificate lifecycle management with carrier document parsing

Supported Integrations

Salesforce, DocuSign, RideSpec Pro, TowerBridge Compliance API, Stripe, ACORD Forms Gateway, PermitFlow, NationalSafetyLink, Twilio, CertVault, S3, SendGrid

Architecture

MidwayCert runs on a Node.js microservices backbone with each regulatory domain — permits, certs, maintenance logs, alerts — isolated into its own service and communicating over an internal message bus. State is persisted in MongoDB, which handles the deeply nested, jurisdiction-specific document structures better than anything relational could. The frontend is React with a custom rules engine on the client side so inspectors can work offline at fairgrounds with no signal. Deployment is containerized and runs on a single beefy VPS because I don't need Kubernetes to be fast.
