Index page

GenePiper is an integrated data mining environment for NGS data. At the moment, we only provide analytical tools for 16S rRNA gene amplicon data.

  2. Button redirect to the content page of 16S analysis.
  3. Button to update GenePiper.

Content page of 16S analysis

In the content page of 16S analysis, tools are arranged in three columns. Data column contains tools for data import and subsetting. Analysis column contains analysis modules that are grouped into sub-categories of Diversity, Descriptive, Ordination, Correlation, Cluster, and Non-parametric. Helper column on the right contains some helper functions (e.g. build phylogenetic tree).

Analysis module layout

Most of the analysis tools in GenePiper share the same layout. The layout follow the same process pathway from left to right and top to bottom. The steps involved are: loading the data, subsetting the samples (optional), analysis parameter setting, graphic parameter setting (if the results contain plots), and displaying the results.

  1. Navigation bar to redirect back to the content page or to reload the existing analysis module.
  2. Description box contains brief description about the analysis. References related to the analysis can also be found here.
  3. Load data panel is for retrieving the saved data for the analysis.
  4. Filter panel is for subsetting the dataset.
  5. Parameters panel is for setting the analysis parameters.
  6. Graphic parameters panel provides different options for plotting the result.
  7. Result panel displays all the results and for export.
