# HPXML Examples

This directory contains minimal example HPXML files demonstrating:

- HPXML file purposes
- Pre-retrofit
- Post-retrofit
- Pre- and post-retrofit

- Modeled rebate schematron classifications
- Required
- Recommended

## Notes

- The v2 examples demonstrate the three file purposes:
- pre-retrofit
- post-retrofit
- pre- and post-retrofit
- The v4 examples demonstrate the modeled rebate schematrons:
- required
- recommended
- The v4 examples use the pre- and post-retrofit file purpose.
- Earlier HPXML versions can still represent modeled rebate workflows, but only v4 files can be validated against the modeled rebate schematrons.
