v1.0.0
Sockpuppet v1.0.0
Sockpuppet is a lightweight, premium port and process monitor built specifically for Linux. Instead of running CLI tools like ss or netstat and guessing which process owns a connection, Sockpuppet reads straight from /proc/net/ and maps sockets to active PIDs.
Features:
Core Monitoring
Live Connection Table: Displays TCP, TCP6, UDP, and UDP6 connections in a clean, filterable view.
Process Mapping: Resolves socket inodes to process names and PIDs holding each port.
Process Control: View detailed process resources and terminate sockets/processes directly from the UI with a confirmation dialog.
Smart Filtering: Search by port, process name, IP, state, or protocol.
v1.0.0 Highlights & Enhancements
Custom Port Labels: Double-click any port or service badge to add your own labels (like "dev database" or "vite server"). These are saved locally via localStorage and persist between restarts.
System Tray Minimizer: Closing the window hides the app to your system tray so it can run quietly in the background. Left-click the tray icon to restore it instantly, or right-click to quit.
Polished Dark Theme: Designed with a clean, Charcoal dark mode, crisp typography, and visual indicators.
Installation
Download the Sockpuppet_1.0.0_amd64.AppImage, run chmod +x, and launch it on any modern Linux distribution. We also have .deb and .rpm packages available below.
