The addition to .bashrc documented above does not work reliably in this mode. Playing around with the delay may prove successful!

Running under BOOKWORM (Debian 12) I have successfully run this and had a display running on an X11 display on UBUNBTU using ssh -X user@host.
I HAVE NOT tried this with an attached display - I don't see a reason for this NOT to work but YMMV !!
