Holding off on this for now — updating CI to test with Go 1.26 only means we lose coverage for the oldest currently-supported Go release. The go.mod still specifies go 1.24.0, so this is a CI testing scope question. Suggest testing with the matrix of the two currently-supported Go versions rather than pinning to the latest.
