Sorry for the huge lag.
I'm unconfortable with changing the 4th parameter of the callback to a non-parasable parameter. I had in mind a nice widget, called by the callback, that would display the progress, including the thumbnail.
There is the start of the begining of an exemple in eyefiserver.conf manual, in "PROGRESS METER"

Another remark: There is a factor 8 error in your display: These are bits and not bytes.
