Tapping the switch key on its own (Shift by default, configurable in Settings → Mouse mode, or Off) latches a mouse mode: clicks, drags and scrolls reach the app until the key is tapped again. A tap only counts when the key is pressed and released alone within 400 ms, with no other key, modifier or click in between, so typing capitals never switches. The menu bar icon turns orange while mouse mode is on, and a short hint says which mode is active. Turning the pointer off resets to the hand. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Settings → Mouse mode gets a toggle, on by default, for the short message that says whether clicks are taps or reach the app. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Holding ⌥ to click for real works for a quick click, but for a longer stretch of real work (typing in a field, dragging a window, scrolling a page) holding a key gets tiring. This adds a latched mode.
What it does
What counts as a tap
Pressed and released alone within 400 ms, with no other key, modifier or mouse button in between — so typing capitals or using ⇧-shortcuts never switches. The event tap now also listens (pass-through only) to
flagsChangedandkeyDownwhile the pointer is on; nothing is swallowed.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
