MarkerFX is a marker-based media & SFX automation plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro.
Instead of dragging, stacking, and fixing overlaps every time, you place timeline markers and let MarkerFX handle the rest.
Fast. Lightweight. Free. Open-source.
Adding SFX usually means:
Drag → drop → adjust → fix overlaps → repeat
Place marker → click Apply → done
Assign a marker color → media name in the UI
Place timeline markers using that color
Click Apply
Inserts the correct media at marker positions Resolves track collisions by moving clips to the next free track Supports audio and video tracks Marks processed markers in red Optional random selection if multiple files share the same name No overlaps. No manual stacking.
Native timeline marker workflow (not clip markers) Marker color-based automation (v1.1+) Automatic audio/video clip placement Smart collision handling Randomized clip selection for variation Used markers turn red for clarity Minimal, lightweight UI
Markers must be placed on the timeline, not on clips (Deselect clips → Right click → Add Marker)
Media files must currently be in the root directory (no folders yet)
MarkerFX does not modify existing clips

MarkerFX was built to solve a real editing pain, not to be another paid tool.
If it saves you time, I am happy it did so!
