This repository contains a Python-based analysis pipeline to:
- Preprocess Chandra data (CIAO)
- Extract surface brightness profiles (
dmextract) - Fit models using Sherpa (normalized β + Gaussian)
- Generate plots and LaTeX reports
- CIAO 4.17 with Sherpa
- Python 3.10+
- Matplotlib, pycrates, ciao-contrib
- Download Chandra data for A2163 (OBSID 1653) via: https://cda.harvard.edu/chaser/
- Place your event files in a
data/folder. - Edit region files as needed (in
regions/) - Run:
python scripts/extract_radial_profile.py- Fitted parameters and uncertainty
- Publication-quality plots (log scale)
- LaTeX report (in latex_report/)
