It's a known artifact of go's linker that referencing
MethodorMethodByNameanywhere in the code suppresses dead-code elimination for public methods for the entire program. This includes embeddingreflect.Type, since that referencesMethodandMethodByName. By simply not embedding reflect.Type, we avoid that.
