FAQ Legacy Controllers

Current Legacy controllers

Until today (Feb.2020), these are the cotrollers that are regarded as "Legacy" by 8bitdo

• SN30/SF30 Pro (latest FW 1.33)
• N30/F30 Pro (latest FW 4.10)
• N30/F30 (latest FW 4.20)
• SN30/SF30 (latest FW 4.20)
• F30 Arcade Stick (latest FW 1.42)

Controllers with legacy Firmware for direct Blootooth connection to Wii/WiiU, PS3 and Retron 5

• N30/F30 Pro (latest legacy FW 2.00)
• N30/F30 (latest legacy FW 3.00)
• SN30/SF30 (latest legacy FW 3.00)

Controller Power ON

• For N30/F30 and SN30/SF30 devices it is the START Button.
• For Pro devices it is the POWER button. Further down i will only refer to START.

Legacy Firmware Combo toggles

For Retron 5:

• START + L for pairing
• L + R + A + B as the HOME key

For PS3:

• START + Y (for the older legacy Firmware < 2.00 Pro and 3.00 non Pro)
• Also you need the PS3 Pairing tool (transfer Console/PC BT MAC to 8bitdo controller, needed for pairing)

For Wii/WiiU:

• Wii START+Y
• WiiU START+Y+R

Gamepad mode:

START

Joystick mode:

• START+R (D-Pad works as Joystick D-Pad)
• START+B+R (D-Pad change from arrow key to normally letter, in order to work with emulators)
• START+R via USB -> X-Input mode

Keyboard mode

• START + B
• START + B + R (for secondary controller)

iCade Mode (Apple Mac/iOS)

• START + A

Touchscreen emu Mode (need for the Adroid App)

• START + X

Delete Bluetooth Pairing and re-pair

Press and hold the SELECT button 2 to 3 seconds, LED will rapidly blink
