"Development isn't just about tools — it's a way of thinking, a kind of joy."
This project is over 8 years old now — a relic from a time when I was working on real-life escape rooms (you know, the kind where they lock you in and you have to solve puzzles to get out 🕵️).
It was one of the most exciting, tactile, and magical periods in my life as a developer.
The idea of connecting Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and a web interface (PHP!) to control props, locks, and lights — it blew my mind.
I still remember the moment when a messy plate of wires started syncing perfectly with a simple web dashboard.
Pure joy.
This project was my way of exploring how technology could orchestrate physical space, tell stories through code, and automate the work of quest room operators.
🎥 I even made a video demo to show how to control quests via a browser.
Turns out it worked — I got hired the very same day I showed it to the quest room owner.
Because this project is a reminder that:
- 🛠 Development is not about perfect frameworks — it's about creative problem-solving.
- ⚡️ It's okay to hack things together when you're learning — especially if it gets the job done.
- 💜 The best moments in tech are when hardware and software click together — and something physical responds to your code.
- 🧠 This is where I really started to fall in love with engineering and the feeling of building real things.
This isn’t maintained or production-ready. I’m not updating it.
But I’m keeping it here because it reminds me why I started.
If you’re just beginning your own dev journey — don’t be afraid of messy wires, wild code, or weird ideas.
That’s where the magic lives.
