Old Overthrow

Originally you have to micro managing taxing passive income to everyone, at equal amounts regardless of how much each player "earned" with leasing houses. Then you had to make sure newer players can spawn, because once you bought a house, you hold it forever unless you come online and sell it. This created problems where old neighbourhoods are unavailable to newer players because they cannot spawn there due to the lack of houses for sale. Combined with the abysmal drug income of only 120% on a good day, it is a nickel and dime way to start a fun game mode.

Overthrow 2021

We solved this with 3 new features.

1. New Tax Algorithm is Automated

Passive Income Algorithm

$0 to $10k

T = X

Where T is tax and X is the value you dictate with the Y menu.

$10k to $79k

T = (0.00001)*L^2

Automated parabolic increase in income and tax but not punishing

$79k to $100k

T = (0.71)*L

This is 71% flat rate tax, to anyone earning over $79k to $100k from leasing

$100k and beyond

L = 29291 + T

T = Tax, L = Lease, X = Player dictated number

This formula allows people to get increased income but more the income from leasing (passive income), more it will go in the pockets of the generals that control the resistance public fund. It caps out at $29k so it leaves very little desire to hoard income and most income will be going to the armies for Overthrowing the opposition. PS. Active economic gains, like selling loot/drugs are not taxed at all.

2. Drug Dealing (The CIA way)

Environment (Stability/Population) affects drug pricing how you would expect IRL

  • Your character stats matter, trade specifically and stealth will save you by increasing the chance of you selling drugs to civilians and not getting caught when under the eyes of police.
  • Prices have standardized to actual real life prices of half ounces of weed and crack cocaine.
  • Profits have increased from 120% to 220% to 300%
  • Drugs are still two kinds, Weed and blow

The less populated the place, the more stable it is, the less people wanting to do drugs, but selling there would be most profitable. This works vise versa, ie, the more populated a town is, and if they're not stable, more people will want to buy drugs at a lower price and it will make for cheaper drug buying prices from your supplier.

3. Deedlock and the Housing Bubble

You can sell houses owned by monopoly players

Deedlock is just a way of saying, you have 21 house limits (editable via SQF), once you go past that limit, your home can be sold by anyone.

  • Money is given back to you via escrow, whether you're online/offline.
  • New players can take their own space without home owners being online.
  • As long as a player remains within 21 buildings, no one can sell any of their Deedlock protected homes
  • As soon as a player go over 21 buildings, all buildings are susceptible to eviction and refunds until 21 limit is reached again.
