i'm doing a PR here since i've seen this is the most recently active fork. Hope it's ok!
additionally: i noticed that the default ad detection uses the window title to retrieve the song title. It maybe my setup, but at the moment spotify's windows title is always "Spotify". I thus went on setting
use_window_title = Falsein.config/blockify/blockify.ini
