Cortana Server Browser v0.1 - Alpha
After many delays, here's the first alpha version of Cortana Server Browser, a utility to quickly view and join ongoing Insignia & XLink Kai matches directly through your Xbox!
Happy 1 year anniversary of Insignia. <3
Current Features:
- Browse active Insignia & XLink sessions
- Browse Insignia & XLink statistics & events
- Launch games directly via Cortana Server Browser
- Add 'installed' games individually when selecting a session, or bulk 'install' via the "Install Games" button.
- Includes "Insignia Connection Test" in the Insignia menu to verify you're connected to Insignia!
- Includes notifiers for both Insignia & XLink Kai sessions and events!
- View news about Insignia and XLink Kai, powered by BlueSky's RSS feed feature!
Future versions will include more in-depth XLink support (collaborating with Crunchbite on that!) and additional QoL settings!
To Install:
- Copy "Cortana Server Browser" to "Q:/scripts" (use release files only, repo is VERY out of date as of this release).
- Go to Scripts in XBMC4Xbox/XBMC4Gamers, then select "Cortana Server Browser" (or select Q:/scripts/Cortana Server Browser/default.py from the file manager)
- Select Insignia or XLink Kai
- Select Sessions to view current matches, Statistics to view server information, Events to view current/upcoming events, or "Enable | Disable Notifications" to receive notifications for your preferred server!
Bugs:
- There's a weird timing issue with the notifier where if you launch a game outside of Cortana Server Browser (ie; through regular menus) at the exact second the script grabs new information, the system can hang. There's like a 1/60 chance of this happening per minute, I haven't really figured out how to get the script to exit gracefully when launching a game, so make sure to disable notifications when not launching games through CSB!
- RAM usage could be better for the notifier.
