Starfield Starsystem Shuffler/Randomizer

random

Was made with human love and a lot of coffee!

A Synthesis patcher for:

  • Randomizing Star System Positions
  • (Optional) Randomizing Planet's Biome List

Features

  • Simple multi-threading for speed

Disclaimer

The approach itself - randomizing star systems and overriding a lot of stars and planets, can lead to bugs, whic hare sometimes ugly. Use with caution and make backups. It is not recommended to use the patcher on a save you love.

User Settings

Common

Num Threads

Number of threads to use. Can be a big value, but might slightly freeze if the value is too big for your pc to handle. You can experiment.

Is clamped to 512 max internally.

Seed

Numeric seed to use for randomization. You can share the seen with your friends so they will get the same result as you!

Star Randomization

Never Randomize These Stars

A list of stars matched by EditorID that should never be randomized.

Item in that list must NOT CONTAIN "Star" at the end, as it is handled automatically.

Valid Examples:

  • abetti
  • bohr
  • (any other such star name)

Biome Randomization

Randomize Biomes checkmark

Allows for enabling/disabling biome randomization.

If Biome Output Path and Biomes Ba2 Names are invalid, then biome randomization will disable itself internally.

Biome Output Path

Path where the tool will spawn a lot of freshly randomized .biom files. The path should exist.

Can be a data folder/mo2 mod folder.

Biome Ba2 Names

(Applicable if using Biome randomization)

A list of ba2 names containing .biom files, without extension.

Default is Starfield - PlanetData and ShatteredSpace - Main01

Never Randomize These Planets

(Applicable if using Biome randomization)

Active if using biome randomization. A list of planets matched by .biom file name with removed spaces, that should never be randomized.

Item in that list must NOT CONTAIN "PlanetData" at the end.

Valid Examples

  • VoliiAlpha
  • AndromasVI-b
  • (any other such planet name)

It is heavily recommended to disable any randomization for VoliiAlpha - so it is disabled by default.
