A novel design approach to optimize operational flexibility of an industrial system facing uncertainty. We use adjustable robust optimization with decision-dependent uncertainty to model the design-for-flexibility problem. Proposed approach can provide a rigorous way of investigating the trade-off between economic performance and flexibility.
