This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.

Getting Started

This project uses both a Next.js App Router frontend and a Python FastAPI backend. Both start concurrently using npm run dev.

1. Setup the Python Backend (FastAPI + Pinecone)

First, initialize your Python virtual environment and install the required AI dependencies:

cd backend
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate # On Windows, use: venv\Scripts\activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
cd ..

2. Run the Development Server

Start both the Next.js frontend and FastAPI backend concurrently:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
# or
pnpm dev
# or
bun dev

3. Alternative: Run with Docker Compose

If you prefer out-of-the-box containerization, this project includes a complete Docker setup for both the Next.js static asset server and the Python FastAPI instance:

docker compose up --build
  • Frontend will be served via Nginx at http://localhost:3000
  • Backend API will be available at http://localhost:8000

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying app/page.js. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

This project uses next/font to automatically optimize and load Geist, a new font family for Vercel.
