This is an attempt to port the template to use biblatex (and biber) as default reference setup. This will solve the comments on #7.

The setup uses the default IEEE bibliography style which should be compatible with CVPR (as far as I know). Check if there are inconsistencies or other changes that may be needed, and report them back.

I left the parenthesis on the backref page list used in the standard style since it makes it cleaner than a list of numbers after the reference.

The first names are abbreviated to save space, but that can be removed if needed.

Can you do a before/after comparison of the rendered PDF? tx

Notice that the names are abbreviated. However, they can be typeset and it will look like

A short note: There is one main difference between this CVPR style and the IEEE one on the article style. In particular the volume-number-eid part in the reference is different. I'm not sure when it was changed, but it may be good to check if another style is better. E.g., the default IEEE style.

@adinriv as this was a major (potentially breaking) change, we decided to dry-run it (privately, without affecting 100k people) for CVPR 2025, and include it in the edits for next year.
