1- Fixed last char bug by adding 1 to the the IF check in function updateText:
if(character_counter == words[word_counter].length+1)
2- Fixed the space issue by adding .replace(" "," ") to the innerHTML update:
el.innerHTML = (el.innerHTML+words[word_counter][character_counter++]).replace(" "," ");
3- Changed the cursor color to white and its width to 2px
