Six years of Android (anything before that was probably not solid solid.. if you get it).
I've worked across several industries, my favourite being fintech, mostly because I got to work on products that were really cool and that I had initially thought were hard. I'm talking PoS systems, NFC payments, Bluetooth integrations, encryption, compliance... the list goes on.
More than 150,000+ users across East & West Africa and 80,000+ South African merchants if anyone asks.
I care deeply about Clean Architecture, good UX, and writing code that my future self won't cringe at.
Currently venturing into everything, really. I think with AI there is a need to figure out the next move. Found myself asking what makes me an engineer with everything AI can do..Does it still count as problem-solving if I didn't solve it? What's the difference between engineering and prompt engineering, really? If the AI writes it and I review it, am I an engineer or a QA?
Lot's of such questions..
So I'd say I'm trying everything, like the one before wasn't already stressful enough.. hoping something sticks π«
On the side, I write on Substack, nothing about tech. More about life, quantum immortality. book reviews, and my fictional stories. I'm currently reading The Metamorphosis by Kafka.
Hey, I also take really nice pictures that I occasionally post on Twitter.
Oh, and if you're wondering, I'm currently open to Android opportunities. If you're building something interesting, let's talk.
