The Agentic Commerce Working Group advances the Agentic AI Foundation’s mission by cataloging, aligning, and harmonizing open specifications, frameworks, and terminology for commerce workflows carried out by AI agents on behalf of users, businesses, and software systems. The Working Group provides interoperability guidance and reference architectures across discovery, negotiation, checkout, payment orchestration, and post-purchase lifecycle interactions, supporting convergence of emerging protocols while maintaining protocol neutrality. The Working Group does not author competing commerce protocols; it identifies common ground across existing and emerging work and recommends paths forward to the Technical Committee.

Meetings of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) involve participation by industry competitors, and it is the intention of the Project to conduct all of its activities in accordance with applicable antitrust and competition laws. It is therefore extremely important that attendees adhere to meeting agendas, and be aware of and not participate in any activities that are prohibited under applicable U.S. state, federal or foreign antitrust and competition laws. Examples of types of actions that are prohibited at AAIF meetings and in connection with AAIF activities are described in the Linux Foundation Antitrust Policy. If you have questions about these matters, please contact your company counsel or Andrew Updegrove of the firm Gesmer Updegrove LLP, which provides legal counsel to the Linux Foundation.
