Follow these steps to get Contribution-Painter working on your PC:
- Visit the Contribution-Painter Releases page.
- Look for the latest release at the top of the page.
- Download the Windows file. It will usually be named something like
Contribution-Painter-Setup.exeor a.zipfile if it is a portable version. - If you downloaded a
.zipfile:- Right-click the file and choose “Extract All.”
- Pick a folder where you want to keep the files.
- If you downloaded an
.exeinstaller:- Double-click the file to start the installation.
- Follow the prompts to complete the setup.
- After installation, find the Contribution-Painter icon on your desktop or in the Start menu and open it.
Once open, the tool shows your GitHub contribution grid. You can paint on this grid using your mouse or touchscreen.

Log in to GitHub
When you run the tool, it will ask you to connect to your GitHub account. This lets it create the required commits safely. -
Choose Your Repository

Confirm that you gave the app permission to access your repository. Also, verify that the repository is not archived or protected from changes. -
I don’t see my design on my GitHub profile.
It may take a few minutes for the contribution graph to update after commits. Refresh your GitHub profile page after a short wait. -
Installation didn’t work or the app won’t start.
Try running the installer as an administrator. Also, check that your Windows version meets the minimum requirements.
