Human 2.0

Hello,

I am currently a master’s student planning to use Human-GEM in my thesis work. I noticed that the Human-GEM 2.0 update (in the devel branch) includes revisions to the carnitine shuttle and lipid metabolism pathways, which are highly relevant to my research. I also see that the pull request has pending checks and has been inactive for a few months. I wanted to ask whether there is an estimated timeline for the 2.0 release, or whether the current devel branch is considered stable enough for exploratory analysis in these pathways.

The Human2 manuscript is currently under review, we plan to officially release the 2.0 update on GitHub when the paper is accepted. We currently do not foresee major changes to the devel version though. I see that there are a few other PRs still open, these might still be merged though. So as advice I would suggest you indeed use the devel version, and keep an eye out if any new PRs are merged in the weeks ahead, to check if these affect your analysis.
