Every Spring semester, elections are held for all officer positions. Special elections are held if an individual holding a position is incapacitated for a semester, graduates, or there is an empty position that can be held by a present voting member not currently holding a position.
- Upsilon makes a motion to begin yearly elections. The motion must be seconded by a voting member.
- Officers are elected in the following order:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Membership Chair
- Public Relations Chair
- Planning Chair
- Rules Chair
- For each position, voting members nominate candidates.
- Candidates give a short speech highlighting their qualifications for the position.
- Candidates are dismissed by the voting members.
- The President, or most senior voting member, opens the floor for discussion.
- Members present cases for or against candidates.
- A vote by hand count is held, the candidate with the most votes wins.
- In the event of a tie, debate continues and another vote is held.
- Candidates are readmitted and the results are announced.
