feat(redragon): add Redragon M719RGB-PRO (INVADER PRO) support - #281
Adds a protocol codec and WebHID driver for the Redragon M719RGB-PRO ("INVADER PRO", 0x25a7:0xfa7e 2.4 GHz receiver, 0x25a7:0xfab0 USB cable): 5 DPI stages (200–10,000 DPI), per-stage indicator colours, polling rate, dual-zone lighting (main RGB + DPI indicator LED), battery/link status, hardware push notifications, and 8-button remapping across both wired and wireless connections.
The M719RGB-PRO uses a Compx/Areson vendor-specific protocol on VID 0x25a7, distinct from both the Holtek M612/M724 (0x04d9) and SinoWealth M690 PRO (0x258a) protocols, so it gets its own client (RedragonM719ProHidClient) and shares the @openmouse/protocol/redragon entry point.
PAW3325 49-entry non-linear DPI table at 0x000c (200–5,000 DPI in 100-DPI steps with hiByte = 0x00; 5,200–10,000 DPI in 200-DPI steps with hiByte = 0x01 and half-DPI code lookup), stage count (0x0002), and active stage index (0x0004).
Per-stage RGB colours at 0x002c and DPI indicator LED effect (Off / Steady / Respiration) at 0x004c.
Main RGB lighting at 0x00a0 (Neon, Breathing, Steady, Off) with SPEED_LUT, NEON_SPEED_LUT, and BRIGHTNESS_LUT.
8-button matrix at 0x0060 (hardware slots [0, 1, 2, 4, 3, 8, 10, 11]) and extended 32-byte multimedia (0x82/0x42) and keyboard shortcut/key (0x80/0x81/0x40/0x41) payloads at 0x0100 + slot * 0x20.
src/drivers/redragon/m719-pro-hid.ts: RedragonM719ProHidClient with sibling HIDDevice peer binding (bindPeers) for platforms that split 0xFF02 and 0xFF01 across separate HIDDevice instances.
src/drivers/registry.ts, src/drivers/vendors.ts, src/drivers/attackshark/hid.ts: register RedragonM719ProHidClient and REDRAGON_M719_PRO_HID_FILTERS, and exclude 0xfa7e/0xfab0 from AttackSharkHidClient on shared VID 0x25a7.
src/drivers/redragon/m719-pro.test.ts: unit tests covering packet/EEPROM checksums, handshake, PAW3325 DPI low/high ranges, lighting LUTs, button matrix + extended payloads, split sibling HIDDevice binding, read-back verification, and offline receiver handling.
Features supported
DPI: 1–5 stages (count editable), 200–10,000 DPI across the PAW3325 hardware table, active stage selection, and per-stage RGB indicator colour.
Polling rate: 125, 250, 500, 1000 Hz.
Lighting: Dual lighting zones:
Mouse: Static, Breathing single, Neon, Off (with colour, 1–10 speed, and 10–100% brightness).
DPI indicator: Static, Breathing single, Off.
Buttons: All 8 physical buttons (Left, Right, Wheel click, Forward, Back, Fire, DPI up, DPI down) with direct mouse/DPI/RGB/profile actions, 18 multimedia consumer actions, keyboard shortcuts, and individual keyboard keys.
Status & notifications: Wireless link detection, battery percentage and charging state, plus live UI refresh on physical DPI/profile button presses.
Evidence & protocol discovery
Static analysis of the OEM driver (OemDrv.exe / Cfg.ini / pro.dct, including FUN_00442600 handshake, FUN_0040b910 PAW3325 DPI encoding, FUN_0040b350 DPI indicator encoding, FUN_0040af50 key-combo encoding, and LUTs DAT_00462fc8 / DAT_00462fd4 / DAT_00462fe0).
USBPcap / Wireshark captures and hardware verification across wired (0xfab0) and 2.4 GHz receiver (0xfa7e) paths.
Safety
Every EEPROM write is verified with a read-back check before returning.
Button matrix updates are read-modify-written in 8-byte (2-slot) aligned chunks matching the OEM driver, and the last Left click assignment cannot be removed.
Wireless writes check receiver link state first and refuse writes cleanly when the mouse is off or asleep.
Not supported
Writing custom macro sequences to 0x0300 (existing macro slots decode as Macro n).
Note
Add Redragon M719RGB-PRO (INVADER PRO) driver support
Adds a full HID client (RedragonM719ProHidClient) with a challenge-response handshake, chunked EEPROM reads/writes with retries and read-back verification, and support for both wired and wireless receiver product IDs
Implements settings for polling rate, DPI stages (value, count, active stage, colors), DPI indicator and main RGB lighting, and button mappings with shortcut payloads and a left-click guard
Handles split HID devices where command and response channels live on separate interfaces, pairing peers and rejecting ambiguous or incomplete sets
Registers the driver in DEVICE_DRIVERS, adds HID filters and vendor ID entries, and documents the new model in the README
Includes an extensive test suite with a fake M719 Pro device covering codecs, registry selection, settings integration, split pairing, corruption, and offline cases
Risk: the 0x25a7 branch in hid.ts now returns null for M719 Pro product IDs; check detectFamily if other Redragon devices relied on that path
Added support for configuring Redragon M719RGB-PRO wired and wireless mice, including DPI stages, polling rate, lighting, DPI indicators, and button mappings.
Added Redragon M719-PRO protocol support and device detection.

redragonM719ProDecodeReadEeprom accepts reply data without checking the reply's declared length at byte 4; a short response padded to a full report can be treated as the requested EEPROM bytes.
Status can present padding as verified settings, or a setter can compare against data the device did not return.
This can occur when: A read of eight bytes receives a success-shaped 16-byte reply declaring zero or fewer than eight data bytes.

redragonM719ProDecodeBattery interprets every raw level from 0 through 10 as a ten-percent unit, although its documented input can also be a direct percentage.
The status displays 50% instead of 5%.
This can occur when: A firmware using direct percentages reports 5% battery.

Update redragonM719ProDecodeBattery so direct-percentage values such as 5 remain
5%, while values encoded in ten-percent units retain their existing
interpretation; use the reply format or protocol discriminator to distinguish
the two representations rather than treating every value from 0 through 10 as a
ten-percent unit.
Pin the handshake response to a literal expected value.
The handshake test derives expected from redragonM719ProComputeHandshakeResponse. The fake device in the same suite derives its reply from the same function. A change to any term in that function therefore passes both the positive and negative checks. The suite checks internal consistency only and does not detect a changed handshake algorithm.
For challenge [0x10, 0x20, 0x30, 0x40], the current formula returns [0x35, 0x70, 0xd0, 0x10]. Assert that literal so an arithmetic change fails the test. This vector comes from the current formula, not from a device capture. The repository has no captured M719 handshake reply, so an independent device vector is not available.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
setDpiStageCount writes the reduced count before moving an active stage that would fall outside that count. A failure between those writes leaves an invalid persisted count/index combination.
The device can retain a selected DPI stage that its stored stage count disables.
This can occur when: The active stage is 4, the requested count is 2, and the subsequent active-stage write fails or is interrupted.

- Around line 593-604: Update setLighting to read the RGB EEPROM record inside
the serialized block before resolving omitted color, speed, and brightness. Use
the record’s values for omitted fields so client defaults do not overwrite
stored settings; preserve explicitly supplied lighting values and the existing
range handling.
- Around line 298-306: Update open() to validate the resolved interface pair
after bindPeers() assigns cmdDevice and notifyDevice: require feature report 8
on the command device and input report 9 on the notification device, and throw
an error naming whichever interface is missing. Do not allow open() to succeed
with an incomplete pair.
- Around line 819-824: Update readButtons to read
REDRAGON_M719_PRO_EEPROM.comboSlotStride bytes for each extended combo slot
instead of reading only 10 bytes, so redragonM719ProDecodeButtonAction receives
the complete slot and can decode later key-press events.
- Around line 930-954: Update the EEPROM reply-matching flow around `waiter` and
`failWaiter` to correlate replies with the pending address as well as the
command byte. Ensure late replies for a timed-out address cannot satisfy a later
read or write, including the `activeDpiStage` write in `setDpiStageCount`.
- Around line 229-234: Update onInputReport to validate the reply checksum
before dispatching a response or resolving its waiter, so corrupted read data
and write acknowledgements are rejected. First confirm the checksum convention
against hardware captures; enforce only the verified convention, preserving the
existing handling of responses that do not match the response or command report
IDs.
- Around line 286-306: Update bindPeers so command and response interfaces are
selected only when they can be reliably associated with the same physical M719
device. Do not pair candidates using vendor and product IDs alone; if the
available device information cannot identify a shared physical device and
multiple candidates make the pairing ambiguous, refuse to bind rather than
selecting interfaces from different mice.
- Line 582: Update the DPI indicator branch in setLighting to return the colour
associated with the active stage, rather than the requested colour. Establish
and use the supported way to read that stage colour, consistent with the
information reported by readStatus; do not assume a single-stage colour helper
exists or return a value the device has not confirmed.
- Around line 342-361: Update close() to call failWaiter(...) before waiting,
then run the device teardown and state resets inside this.serialized(...). This
ensures previously queued operations finish before devices close while the
in-flight exchange rejects promptly; keep the handshakeCompleted reset within
the serialized teardown.
Review comments at @src/redragon/m719-pro.ts:
- Around line 478-482: Update setPollingRate to validate the EEPROM read-back
bytes against both bytes of the encoded record, rather than relying only on
redragonM719ProDecodePollingRate, which maps unknown codes to 1000 Hz. Reject
any mismatch and return the requested rate only after the record matches.
- Around line 576-597: Update writeStageDpi to verify the complete 4-byte
read-back against the encoded target record byte by byte before reporting
success; retain the checksum check as an additional validation of that same
record.
- Around line 955-987: Update redragonM719ProEncodeKeyComboPayload to cap its
padded payload length at the combo slot stride, keeping the event data and
checksum within the slot. Preserve the existing length calculation for shorter
combos.
