Adds a driver for the Tt eSPORTS (Thermaltake) Iris Optical RGB and its Hatsune Miku Edition, which is the same mouse in a different shell.

Device

Models Iris Optical RGB, Iris Optical RGB Hatsune Miku Edition
IDs 264a:1019, product string "Iris Optical RGB", bcdDevice 0x6901
Firmware byte 0x80 (the Miku Edition app's target; Command Center Pro targets 9)
Connection Wired USB

What the driver does

Settings live in five 2048-byte onboard profiles. Every change rewrites the active profile whole, keeping bytes it does not own (lighting, buttons, name), and is read back before it counts.

  • Config collection (interface 1, LED page 0x08 usage 0x4B, 2052-byte feature reports 0x0C command / 0x05 profile): polling rate (125 to 2000 Hz), 1 to 4 DPI stages (100 to 5000 in steps of 100), active stage, angle snapping, button response (8 to 32 ms), onboard profile switching.
  • Chrome on Windows: that collection declares only constant items, so Windows reports no caps and Chrome drops it (same wall as the Delux M600 Pro). Interface 0's mouse collection carries an unnumbered 8-byte vendor feature report that reaches the same command parser, so the driver falls back to it: firmware, active profile and profile switching, with a status note that the rest needs OpenMouse Bridge. The keyboard interface alone is claimed as status only.

Tested on hardware (Miku Edition, Windows 10)

Natively with HidD_SetFeature / HidD_GetFeature, sending exactly the frames the driver sends:

  • C4 08 → B0 55 AA 80; DF 0D → B0 C0 0D 00 00 50.
  • C4 0C p + report 0x05 read for all five profiles, every checksum valid.
  • Polling write on the active profile (C4 10, 0x05 block, C4 00): read-back matched byte for byte; restoring the original block also matched byte for byte.
  • Over interface 0's 8-byte report: firmware, profile register, and DE 0D 00 00 5p to profile 2 and back, read back each time.

From a browser tab through OpenMouse Bridge (built with the read fallback below), using this driver: status read, then polling 500 Hz, stage 2 to 900 DPI, active stage 3, three stages, debounce 12 ms, angle snapping on, profile 2 and back. Every step read back as written, and the original profile block was then restored byte for byte.

Not tested from Chrome itself: on Chrome 156 the user saw the consumer-only device that motivated the 8-byte fallback, whose frames were verified natively but not from a tab. 1500 Hz was not written on hardware.

Evidence

Recovered statically from the vendor's managed Iris.dll / HIDLib.dll (both the Command Center Pro module and the standalone Miku Edition app; their HIDLib.dll is identical). Details, unknowns, and the decoded but unimplemented lighting, button and macro layouts are in docs/thermaltake-iris-testing.md. No vendor code or captures with identifiers are included.

Known limits

  • OpenMouse Bridge v1.0.0-beta.20 lists the config collection but refuses to read an undeclared feature report (only Razer and Microsoft have a fallback buffer). The full mode through Bridge needs a 2053-byte read fallback for vendor 0x264A, a 6-line Bridge change (fix(hid): read the Tt eSPORTS Iris config reports OpenMouse-Bridge#60) tested as above. Bridge also returns shorter replies than WebHID (7 bytes for 0x0C, 2051 for a profile); the codec pads them back into place.
  • Lighting, button mapping and macros are documented, not implemented.

Checks

  • npm run check: 2760 tests pass, package dry-run OK.
  • OpenMouse built and its 589 tests pass against this package; bundle within budget.
  • The registry sweep gained the LED usage page and usage 0x4B so the overlap tests exercise the driver.

Matching OpenMouse change: OpenMouse-Project/openmouse#1298 (draft until this is released).

Note

Add Tt eSPORTS Iris Optical RGB driver

  • Adds a ThermaltakeHidClient in hid.ts that reads device status, switches onboard profiles, and edits profile-backed settings (DPI, polling rate, debounce) with whole-profile read-back verification
  • Adds a Thermaltake protocol module in index.ts with command encoding, reply decoding, profile checksums, and settings patching
  • Detects two command channels: a full configuration channel (LED-page feature collection) and a short mouse-interface channel; devices with no channel get identity-only status
  • Registers the driver in registry.ts with channel-based scoring (7 config, 5 short, 2 none) and adds HID filters and the ./thermaltake package export
  • Documents hardware findings and protocol details in thermaltake-iris-testing.md

Explanation

The title "feat: add Tt eSPORTS Iris Optical RGB driver" matches the main change. The PR adds a driver for the Tt eSPORTS Iris Optical RGB (264a:1019) and its Hatsune Miku Edition, and the changeset includes the registry entry, HID client, vendor filters, and protocol module for that mouse. The title is short, specific, and uses a conventional commit prefix. It does not mention the Chrome for Windows fallback or the partial scope (documented-only lighting, buttons, and macros), which is expected for a title.

Approvability

Verdict: Approved at 744c3ad

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Adds Iris Optical RGB support with interface-aware limitations and verified onboard-profile updates. Device-specific matching, preservation of unrelated settings, and documented hardware write-and-restore testing limit the exposure.

Add coverage for undeclared config reports.

The config fake declares no feature reports but accepts every feature-report operation. Full-channel tests can therefore pass without detecting the documented Bridge rejection. Enforce declarations in the fake and add a config-usage case that expects the rejection. Keep the existing declared-report tests for full-channel coverage.

298-304: Minor · Potential issue · Heavy lift

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

Changing angle snapping replaces the entire byte with 0x80 or 0x00, clearing other set bits such as the 0x04 present in the supplied profile fixture. Those bits may encode independent settings that a profile patch should retain.

The whole-profile write may silently change another mouse setting alongside angle snapping.

This can occur when: A profile has 0x04 or 0x84 at the angle-snapping offset and angle snapping is toggled.

310-314: Minor · Potential issue · Quick win

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

The try/finally that sends endWrite begins only after beginWrite resolves. If the transport applies beginWrite but rejects its send promise, this operation never sends the closing command.

The mouse may remain in a flash-write window after the setter rejects.

This can occur when: The begin-write feature request reaches the mouse, but its transport reports an error afterward.

Rebased onto latest main while preserving both sets of driver entries. Rejected truncated profile replies before padding, required declared feature reports for the config channel, logged firmware transport errors, and added dedicated codec tests plus driver regressions for safe writes and failed active-profile status replies (the status check was already fixed). Validation: build passed, all 2,931 tests passed, and git diff --check passed; this repo has no lint script.

Covers the Iris Optical RGB (264a:1019) and its Hatsune Miku Edition,
which is the same mouse in a different shell.

Settings live in five 2048-byte onboard profiles read and written over
2052-byte feature reports on the LED-page config collection. The driver
exposes polling rate, 1-4 DPI stages (100-5000), active stage, angle
snapping, button response (8-32 ms) and onboard profile switching. Every
change rewrites the active profile whole, keeping unknown bytes, and is
read back before it counts.

Protocol recovered from Command Center Pro; reads of all five profiles and
a polling write/restore were verified on a Miku Edition.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The Iris config collection declares only constant items, so Windows
reports no caps for it and Chrome drops it, handing the page just the
consumer collection. Claim that device as status only with a note that
points to OpenMouse Bridge, which reaches the collection natively,
instead of failing the connection as unsupported.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Interface 0's mouse collection carries an unnumbered 8-byte vendor
feature report that reaches the same command parser as the hidden
config collection. Chrome exposes it, so the driver falls back to it
there: firmware, the active profile and switching between the five
onboard profiles, with a note that DPI, polling and the rest need
OpenMouse Bridge. Adds the mouse collection to the picker filters.

Documents the lighting, button and macro layouts decoded from the
vendor tool, and why Bridge cannot read the config collection yet.

kagaminehaku and others added 4 commits November 6, 2026 01:47
hidapi reports only the bytes the mouse transferred and Bridge drops the
first one as the report id, so a 0x0C reply arrives as 7 bytes without
its status and a profile as 2051 bytes without the trailing pad. Pad any
reply shorter than the full report back into place, and decode command
replies by channel so these lengths cannot be mistaken for the 8-byte
mouse-interface report.

Verified through a Bridge build with a read fallback for vendor 0x264a:
every setting written, read back, and the original profile restored
byte for byte.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Reject a command reply whose status byte is present but is not 0xB0;
only Bridge's 0x0C replies, which lose that byte, are taken without it.
- Reject a non-finite DPI instead of storing it as 0.
- Rewrite the DPI level byte only when the stages or the active stage
change, so a polling or debounce patch keeps it as stored.
- Send the write-window close even when the open command reports an
  error after reaching the mouse.
- Document macro offsets relative to the 2048-byte block the vendor sends
(bytes 64..2111 of its macro file): events start at +56.
