🔗 openlink - Easy Local File Access for AI

Download openlink

📋 About openlink

openlink lets your web-based AI directly access files on your computer and run local commands. This means you can use AI tools through your web browser while they read, write, or manage files where you store your documents, pictures, or projects. It works on Windows and allows smooth interaction without complex setup.

openlink is designed for regular users who want a faster way to combine AI with files on their PC. You don't need to know code or change your system deeply. openlink acts like a bridge between your local files and the AI you use online.

🖥 System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • At least 4 GB of RAM for smooth operation
  • Internet connection required only for initial setup and AI access
  • Web browser like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox

⚙️ Key Features

  • Connect web-based AI safely to your local files.
  • Run simple commands on your PC from your browser.
  • Control which folders or files the AI can access.
  • No need to install heavy software or make system changes.

  • Click the file name to download it to your computer.

Step 3: Run the Installer

  1. Open the folder where the setup file downloaded (usually "Downloads").
  2. Double-click the installer file (openlink-setup.exe or similar).
  3. If Windows asks you for permission, click Yes to allow.
  4. Follow the setup wizard:

    • Click Install.
  5. Wait for the setup to finish, then click Finish.

Step 4: Launch openlink

  • The AI can now read or write files from your allowed folders.
  • You can also send commands to your PC via openlink for tasks like opening files or running scripts.

🔐 Safety and Permissions

openlink takes privacy seriously. When you first launch it, you control exactly which folders AI can reach. The AI cannot access parts of your PC not approved by you. You may adjust permissions anytime in openlink’s settings.

Avoid sharing sensitive data or granting access to system folders. If you suspect any problem, close openlink from the system tray.

🛠 Troubleshooting

  • Installer won’t run: Make sure you downloaded the full .exe file. Try right-clicking and choosing "Run as administrator."
  • AI can’t access files: Check openlink’s permissions settings. Make sure the AI has permission to the right folders.
  • Error during setup: Restart your computer and try again. Close any other programs that might block the installer.
  • openlink does not start after install: Look for the icon in your system tray. If missing, search “openlink” in Start and launch it.

🔄 Updating openlink

To check for updates, return to the download page. Download the newest Windows installer and run it. The setup will update your existing version without losing settings.

📂 How openlink Works

openlink runs in the background on Windows. It listens for requests from web-based AI software. When the AI asks to open, read, or modify a file, openlink performs that action locally, then sends back the results.

Because of this method, the AI never needs full access to your PC. openlink accepts limited commands for safety and ease.

💡 Tips for Best Use

  • Keep openlink running while using AI web apps for file access.
  • Grant access only to folders needed at the moment.
  • Close openlink when not in use to free system resources.
  • Use a trusted AI service to avoid unintended access.
  • Regularly update openlink for latest fixes and security.
