Underwriting-Decision-Safety-Lab helps with loan approval decisions. It trains a base model to classify loan applications, then adjusts its confidence scores to improve reliability. The system uses clear rules to decide when to approve loans automatically and when to refer them for review. This way, it balances speed and care.
The app includes a dashboard you can open in your web browser. There, you will find loan reports, easy triage tools, and checks for your data quality. It uses simple visuals to present information, making it easy to understand.
- Windows 10 or later

Follow these steps to get the app running on your Windows machine. You don’t need any special skills.

You will find the latest app version there. The app files come ready to use, with everything included.
- On the Release page, look for the latest version release.
- Find the file with a
.exeextension (for example,UnderwritingLabSetup.exe). - Click the file name to start the download.
The file size is around 100 MB. The download speed will depend on your internet connection.
- Locate the downloaded
.exefile in your Downloads folder. - Double-click the file to start the installation.
- Follow the on-screen prompts:
- Choose the destination folder or accept the default.
- Agree to the terms.
- Wait for the installer to finish.
Once installed:
- The app icon should appear on your desktop or Start menu.
- Double-click the icon to open the app.
- The app launches a Streamlit dashboard in your default browser.
You will see the main dashboard page with loan reports and options.
The dashboard provides several sections:
- Report Cards: View the model’s performance and loan decisions.
- Triage UI: Quickly identify applications to approve, review, or reject.
- Data Quality Checks: Review the input data for any issues before processing.
You can interact with the dashboard by clicking buttons and selecting filters. The app handles all calculations in the background.
- App does not start: Confirm the install process finished without errors. Restart your computer and try again.
- No browser window opens: Open your browser manually and go to
http://localhost:8501. - Slow performance: Close other programs to free up memory. Make sure your PC meets the requirements.
- Firewall blocks app: Allow the app permission to use the network when prompted.
