Impact Operations AI Toolkit

Why this exists

Purpose driven teams are stretched thin. Budgets are tight. The work is urgent. AI tools should be making this easier — but most of what's out there is built for tech companies, sales teams, or agencies. Not for the people running grant cycles, coordinating volunteers, drafting board papers, or holding the operations of a purpose-driven organisation together with goodwill and gaffer tape.

This repo is our attempt to fix that.

We're sharing the prompts, frameworks, and tools we use with our clients — and the ones we're still figuring out. Some are polished. Some are works in progress. All of them are designed for the realities of mission-led work.

If you're operating a purpose driven organisation and AI feels like one more thing to figure out alone, this is for you.

How this works

This isn't a finished product. It's a working space.

  • We share what we build. Prompts, frameworks, and toolkits go here as we develop them. Free to use, adapt, share.
  • We seek feedback. What worked? What didn't? What's missing? Tell us — through issues, discussions, or directly.
  • We iterate. Every prompt is versioned. When something improves, we update it. When something doesn't work, we say so.

The goal isn't perfection. It's operations as ambitious as your mission — built together, in the open, by the people who actually need them.

Who this is for

  • Operations leads, program managers, and admin staff at purpose-driven organisations.
  • CEOs and founders of mission-led organisations trying to scale impact without burning out their teams.
  • Boards thinking about AI adoption and wanting practical, sector-grounded starting points.
  • Anyone in the for-purpose sector who's curious about AI but tired of generic, corporate, or tech-bro framings.

You don't need to be technical. You don't need a paid AI subscription (most prompts work on free tiers). You don't need permission. Just take what's useful.

What's in here

About Me Builder

A 15-minute interview prompt that produces a personalised "About Me" file for your AI tool. Once saved, your AI gives you tailored answers in your voice, with your context — every time.

The highest-leverage thing you can do to stop getting generic AI output. A good place to start. → /about-me-builder

More prompts in development. Watch or star this repo to get notified as we add them.

How to use this repository

  1. Browse the folders above. Each one is a self-contained toolkit.
  2. Open the folder you're interested in.
  3. Read the instructions (always called instructions.md).
  4. Follow the steps. Every prompt is copy-paste — no setup required.

You don't need to install anything. You don't need a GitHub account. You just need access to ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.

What we believe

These principles shape every prompt in this repo:

  • Architecture before automation. AI applied to broken processes accelerates failure. Get the structure right first.
  • The right problem first. Tools should serve the work, not the other way around.
  • Adoption over delivery. A prompt that doesn't get used is worthless, no matter how clever it is.
  • Equity by design. Plain language, low cost, accessible structure. If it only works for technical users with paid plans, we've missed the point.
  • Built in the open. The for-purpose sector grows when knowledge moves freely. We share what we know.

Get involved

This works best when it's a conversation, not a download.

  • Tried something? Tell us what happened. What worked, what didn't, what you'd change. Open an issue or start a discussion.
  • Got a prompt or toolkit you'd like to see? Suggest it. We're building this in response to real needs.
  • Adapted something for your org? We'd love to see it. Purpose driven work is better when methods are shared.
