Add open persistent pins button

Could you describe the use case for this to me? Having this button in the settings menu seem a little bit too far away, for when one would use this according to my imagination.

I have little knowledge in extension development and did not know how to add this option in a more practical place. I agree that having the button in the settings is too far away, but I think this is a useful feature nonetheless :)
