Thanks for putting this together! I pushed a couple of commits to your branch with editorial tweaks:
- Aligned headings and terminology with the UI labels (Combined telemetry / Native telemetry)
- Fixed the stale "Semantic Mode" reference in the query_metrics.md example
- Added the side nav entry and alphabetized the functions index
- Reshaped the page into a shorter reference format (summary table, one JSON fragment with line highlighting) to match the style of the other function pages
- Added further reading link to the Query Across Datadog and OpenTelemetry Metrics page
One question: is this feature in preview? If so, we should add a preview banner at the top of the page. Let me know and I can add one.
Take a look and let me know if anything doesn't match your intent, and we can adjust!

@brett0000FF Thanks for cleaning up and improving my initial stab at this! All of your changes match my intent. Yes, this feature is in preview right now and isn't generally available to customers yet, so a banner sounds like a great idea. |

What does this PR do? What is the motivation?
This PR adds documentation for the new "semantic mode" metric query modifier and updates existing documentation that referenced the old "Telemetry Sources" telescope toggle. This modifier was added as part of Datadog's efforts to natively support OpenTelemetry metrics and hybrid environments where both Datadog and OTel agents submit metric data.
