aka: How We Turn Existential Dread into Feature Releases
Because no great project started with "we have it all figured out" — welcome to our master research plan, broken into semi-believable phases.
We begin by building the foundation. Not because it's glamorous — but because chaos needs structure.
- 🔍 Data Ingestor — Bring in raw data from APIs, PDFs, Excel files, and possibly, handwritten financial notes from 2003.
- 🧮 Fundamental Analyzer — Calculate valuations, financial ratios, and other stuff MBAs like to throw around.
- 🧠 Strategy Builder — Turn market noise into alpha (or at least convincing-looking charts).
- 📊 Report Generator — Export findings into formats your boss will pretend to read.
- 🖼️ Visualization Layer — Because if it’s not in a graph, did it even happen?
🎯 Goal: Ship a working web app with these core modules.
🧾 Why web app first? Because we don’t want to pay to host user data or run a fleet of servers. Let your browser do the heavy lifting.
Because some people still panic when they see a terminal or a browser tab labeled "localhost".
- 🧪 Package everything into a shiny desktop app using Electron, Tauri, or black magic.
- 🗂️ Make offline mode work — for those who don’t trust clouds (or their WiFi).
- 🧼 Add UX polish until it looks like a product and not a hackathon project that didn’t sleep.
🎯 Goal: Run locally. Look professional. Crash less than early Steam games.
This is where it gets spicy. We go beyond numbers into narratives.
- 📰 News Sentiment Engine — NLP-based system that reads news, cries internally, and scores companies accordingly.
- 🏁 Company Scoreboard — A dashboard showing:
- Fundamental value
- Sentiment score
- Market reality vs what it should be (lol)
- 🧘♂️ Create a ranking system so users can say: “I told you this company was overvalued!” (even if they didn’t)
🎯 Goal: Combine fundamentals, media bias, and intuition — then call it "quantitative analysis."
We stop being a side project and start being a movement (or at least a GitHub org with ambition).
- 🧑🔬 Publish research openly with community collaboration.
- 📚 Maintain a live knowledge base of companies, sectors, and strategies.
- 🎓 Accept contributors, students, and skeptics.
- 🐍 Maybe even build a plugin ecosystem (because every good cult needs extensibility).
🎯 Goal: Be the open-source QuantInsti / Morningstar / Hogwarts for finance nerds.
Each phase builds toward the dream of:
"Making bad decisions faster with AI"
