Look for files ending in .zip or .exe. These contain the plugin files you will add to Open WebUI.
- If you see a
.zipfile, this contains all the plugins and configuration files in one package. - If you see an
.exeinstaller, it will help install plugins automatically.
Click the file to download it to your computer.
- If you downloaded a
.zip, right-click it and choose "Extract All." Pick a folder location you can find easily on your PC. - If you downloaded an
.exeinstaller, double-click the file and follow the on-screen setup instructions. It will place plugins into the correct folder for Open WebUI.
If you used the installer, this step is likely complete. If not:
- Open your Open WebUI folder.
- Look for the
pluginsorextensionsfolder. - Copy the extracted plugin folders/files into this directory.
Each plugin will usually have its own folder or configuration file.
If Open WebUI was running during plugin install, close it completely. Then open it again.
The software will detect new plugins and load them automatically.
Once installed, these plugins work inside your Open WebUI interface. Here are some common ways to use and manage them:
- Enable or disable plugins from the Open WebUI settings or plugins menu.
- Some plugins add new commands or actions you can type in your chat.
- Others add filters that change how the AI responds.
- Some plugins may run background tasks or automate parts of a conversation.

Each plugin may have its instructions or settings inside Open WebUI. Check plugin folders for README files or help documents.
To get the latest fixes or features, check the releases page regularly.
