What is Resistor?

  • Resistor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. In electronic circuits, resistors are used to reduce current flow, adjust signal levels, to divide voltages, bias active elements, and terminate transmission lines, among other uses. High-power resistors that can dissipate many watts of electrical power as heat, may be used as part of motor controls, in power distribution systems, or as test loads for generators.

Benefits

- It reduces the time that was wasted for calculating the characteristics of a resistor.
- It is simple and quick way of identifying a resistors ohmic value no matter what it's size or condition.

Using the application

  • The user enters the type of the resistor which we need to test either 4 Band or 5 Band.
  • Next user enters the color char representing different color bands.
  • This returns the Resistance and Tolerance of Resistor.
