EvoGuard

My PhD thesis seeks genes that are responsible for speedy stomatal movements in fluctuating light to optimize agricultural production. The strategy is to exploit the natural variations in the speed of stomatal movements among species and genotypes, and find the evolutionary conserved responses in guard cell then introduce them into crops. Hence the name EvoGuard.

The thesis is divided into the following chapters with logical order:

  1. Review of natural variation of speedy stomata: code repository hyperlink COPB_GCstarch.

Side projects

  1. A point mutation in the photosystem II protein PsbW disrupts thylakoid organization and alters starch granule formation.
