allow uploading images from the clipboard

I want to save a screenshot to the clipboard by also holding down “control” during Mac OS X’s standard screenshot keyboard shortcuts, and then upload that screenshot to imgur. That way, I don’t need to locate the created screenshot file, drag it, and then delete it once it’s uploaded.
